The Great Wall of China was related to Wei’s population, as Wei people came from the great grass lands and they were once one of the greatest nomadic tribe in Northern China. After Wei had successfully build their own dynasty in China, the Wei people had started to move into lifestyles similar to central Chinese city dwellers. And as they were now half grass land nomads and half city dwellers, Wei would had to also build tall, strong walls and/or restore/extend existing walls to protect themselves against other nomadic tribes (Rouran and Qidan nomads from the northern plains) from the North as well.
Following are more pictures on the Great Wall of China, which were used to protect invasion from the Northern nomadic tribes like the Mongols.
